An infection is causing trouble

We set off again. This time we visited our goat project in Bagezi, about 35 kilometres (22 miles) from Kitutu.
The goat project works as follows: One family gets a goat, the neighbouring family gets a goat and both can now raise offspring for two years. They are allowed to keep everything they earn, but after two years they have to return two goats to the project. These are given to new familys. So much for the theory, and that’s largely how it works. We distributed goats in Bagezi many years ago. The village community got together there to raise the animals together. In a meeting, the people told us about their experiences with the project and the problems they are currently facing. Click here to watch
One problem is an infectious disease that affects some of the animals and causes eczema on their hindquarters. We also need the appropriate medication and, above all, training on how to prevent this infection and how to recognise and treat it at an early stage
